NATURE OF WORK:

Responsible for monitoring and maintaining of quality assurance processes, procedures and controls to meet established performance, quality and safety standards. Responsible for monitoring implemented internal processes necessary to achieve and/or maintain applicable Federal, State and Municipal accreditations, certifications and licensures.

Demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid and National healthcare compliance regulations and practices. Ability to stay current with healthcare regulations and standards.Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance practices and principles. Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment while staying positive and forward thinking. Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards. Demonstrated knowledge of existing internal policies and procedures and quality assurance standards. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR QA SPECIALIST II: Demonstrated proficiency in the operational principles and the SCF methods of improvement. Demonstrated skill in successfully facilitating Quality Assurance and Accreditation work teams. Demonstrated skill in coordinating the development, education and training of employees in Quality Assurance and Accreditation tools and methods. Demonstrated ability to develop Quality Assurance monitoring methods and tools as regulations and standards change. Demonstrated ability to utilize Quality Assurance data and tools to identify trends and make effective decisions. Demonstrated skill in implementing the Quality Assurance and Accreditation plans at the division/department level. Demonstrated skill in independently managing large quantities of data and competing priorities to meet set timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
SCF programs are established for the purpose of serving a primary population comprised of Alaska Natives who are affiliated with the Cook Inlet Region Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Natives and American Indians within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of the CIRI members, and of the general culture and needs of Alaska Natives and American Indians. Such knowledge is critical in order to ensure the achievement of the mission and vision of SCF: working together with the Native community to provide the best services with Native staff who value the family and family wellness as the heart of the Native community. Associate’s Degree OR equivalent training and experience. One (1) year of healthcare experience. Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in quality assurance or quality improvement. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR QA SPECIALIST II: Meets all requirements of QA Specialist I in addition to the following: Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent training and experience, Two (2) years demonstrated experience at the QA Specialist I Level.
