The Circle of Recovery program allows customer/owners seeking substance abuse treatment a free and independent choice among enrolled providers. The program is part of the Access to Recovery (ATR) grant that provides customers financial assistance in getting help for substance abuse concerns. Circle of Recovery is funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Circle of Recovery program creates partnerships with community organizations that are providing clinical and recovery support services.

Circle of Recovery meets with customers who are interested in seeking help for substance abuse. The intake treatment coordinator will conduct an intake interview and a social needs survey to assist the customer in determining next steps in their recovery process. After the intake interview, the customer will be able to choose a service provider from a service directory of enrolled providers. The customer will be able to choose from both community and faith-based programs. The customer will receive a voucher that will assist them in paying for the services they are seeking. The intake coordinator will work with the customer during the recovery process.

Circle of Recovery assists Alaska Native and American Indian people who are low income and underinsured. The program works with providers in the Anchorage, Wasilla and Palmer area, and is open to ages 13 and older.

Circle of Recovery can assist customers in obtaining services, including:

  • Assessment (mental health and/or substance abuse)
  • Intensive Outpatient
  • Residential Treatment
  • Educational Services
  • Employment Services/Job Training
  • Transportation
  • Spiritual/Faith Based Support

Circle of Recovery is working together with clinical and recovery support agencies throughout the community to provide customers with greater choice of care in their recovery journey.
