NATURE OF WORK:

Responsible for the investigation/identification, development/selection, maintenance, measurement/evaluation, and improvement of clinical learning and development (L&D) systems at SCF. Primary focus is on the delivery of a variety of clinical L&D solutions that improve and/or enhance overall workforce performance.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Customer Care & Relationships:

  1. Creates, develops, and nurtures culturally appropriate interactions and connections with each other, customer-owners, and the community.
  2. Delivers a broad range of clinically-focused L&D solutions, while mastering appropriate clinical subject matter expertise in assigned areas
  3. Works with employees, managers, Leadership, committees and work teams to ensure that L&D meets the identified needs of the appropriate clinic, program, department, division and SCF at-large.
  4. Delivers clinical L&D assessment, identification, alignment, support/resources, and mentoring to workforce.

·         Delivers appropriate L&D solutions, as related to—and in alignment with—the Strategic Plan, Development Center (DC) Annual Plan, relevant department/division Annual Plans, and individual Performance Development Plans.

 

·         Researches industry best practices, benchmarks, and other resources (i.e., ASTD) and incorporates into all L&D approaches, design, and execution.

·         Incorporates Adult Learning Theory and Principals into all career development mentoring approaches, designs, plans, and execution.

 

·         Participates in the development, analysis, and implementation of the DC’s Annual Workforce Learning Needs Assessment.

 

·         Supports—and consults with—the DC Learning & Development Team, on alignment of all L&D.

 

·         Assists, supports, and partners with L&D Instructional Design Specialists on the research, development,    implementation, evaluation, and improvement of L&D curriculum and related materials/resources.

  1. Coordinates other L&D as needed/requested.

  2. Works collaboratively by building bridges, and creating rapport with team members within departments and across the organization.

  4. Computer skills (strong knowledge/skill of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point, with MOS certificated preferred).

  7. Works independently and has the capability to efficiently make decisions independently.
  8. Maintains quality, safety and infection control standards; and
  9. Knowledge of 1974 Privacy Act is required since use of customer-owner record is an integral part of the position and privacy of individuals must be protected to the fullest.

 



QUALIFICATIONS:

SCF programs are established for the purpose of serving a primary population comprised of Alaska Natives who are affiliated with the Cook Inlet Region Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Natives and American Indians within SCF’s geographical service area.  Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of the CIRI members, and of the general culture and needs of Alaska Natives and American Indians.  Such knowledge is critical in order to ensure the achievement of the mission and vision of SCF: working together with the Native community to provide the best services with Native staff who value the family and family wellness as the heart of the Native community.

1.      Bachelor’s degree in medical or mental health field (including nursing, social work, counseling, psychology); or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

2.      Two (2) years of experience in medical or mental health field (including nursing, social work, counseling, psychology.)

3.      Two (2) years of experience in the field of adult learning, training and development, education, vocational/occupational counseling or related field. This includes being a preceptor, mentor or supervisor for students or medical or mental health professionals.

4.      Certificate/Certification by ASTD (American Society of Training and Development), or like industry-recognized organization (or ability to obtain within six months).
