Rasmuson Foundation
‘Helping others is an Alaskan tradition’

Rasmuson Foundation has contributed substantially to the health and wellness of the Alaska Native Community as part of the private family foundation’s commitment to improving the lives of Alaskans.

Over the years, this commitment has equated to $4.2 million in funding for Southcentral Foundation in support of multidimensional wellness through health and related services.

Rasmuson Foundation’s most recent funding furnished and equipped the 21-chair dental clinic in the Benteh Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center, which opened its doors last year to better serve the Alaska Native and American Indian people in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. Past funding has provided a mobile X-ray machine for the McGrath Regional Health Center – which serves McGrath as well as the communities of Nikolai, Takotna and Telida; automated pharmaceutical dispensing units for remote, rural health clinics; and ongoing support for the growth of the Family Wellness Warriors Initiative in addressing the effects of domestic violence, abuse and neglect in Alaska.

Southcentral Foundation’s Anchorage Native Primary Care Center is one of several Alaska stops on the annual Rasmuson Foundation Grantmakers Tour that has brought 118 national funders to Alaska to learn about worthy and viable funding opportunities.
