PUBLIC RELATIONS
The purpose of Southcentral Foundation’s Public Relations (PR) Department is to address the importance of communications in achieving Southcentral Foundation’s Vision, Mission and Key Points.
The Southcentral Foundation PR Department builds upon strengths and successes of the past, while creating new initiatives to meet rapidly changing healthcare initiatives. Respect for the individual - volunteer, staff, board and consumer - is inherent. The opportunity for trust to develop is possible when communication is preceded, accompanied and followed by appropriate actions and credibility based on oppenness/accessibility, truthfulness, responsiveness, transparency, and engagement.

- Is committed to effective communication with internal and external customers (i.e. staff, administration, customers, etc.), as well as with our defined community partners and other local, regional, national and international stakeholders.
- Responds to media inquiries and is responsible for distribution to the media about the organization's personnel, programs, services and policies
- Coordinates interaction with the media for the purpose of providing factual information, and protecting customer privacy and confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines.
- Serves as the contact point and coordinator of all official visits and/or tours of its facilities, including, but not limited to, those by the media, dignitaries, tribal members, education, medical providers and public.
- Provides consultation and editorial technical assistance services to program staff, which may include interaction with external organizations.
Additionally, the PR Department will work with other agencies in local, state, national and/or international activities such as conventions/conferences, solicitations, charity drives, civic celebrations, awards and other recognition activities on behalf of Southcentral Foundation.
