Southcentral Foundation received some exciting news in fall 2018. SCF was one of the few selected to receive funding from The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) with a project start date in October 2018.
Harvard Medical School and Harvard Medical School’s Center for Primary Care have designated Southcentral Foundation’s President/CEO Katherine Gottlieb as Community Engagement Clerkship Faculty Director at SCF.
In March, a special ceremony was held in Eklutna celebrating the opening of Eklutna Village Clinic. The event included Tribal leaders from the Native Village of Eklutna, representatives from the offices of Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz, Senator Lisa Murkowski, Congressman Don Young, and Southcentral Foundation leadership.
At Southcentral Foundation we take great joy in celebrating the successes of community partners who help fulfill our vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness.
Each spring, Southcentral Foundation highlights the work of the Family Wellness Warriors Initiative, a program established by President/CEO Katherine Gottlieb in 1999. One of FWWI’s aims is to end to child abuse and child sexual assault in this generation.
