Living in remote locations like rural Alaska can mean that trips for groceries, gas, and even health necessities sometimes need to be planned in advance.

Organizational partnerships are strengths of Southcentral Foundation. The research department has been fortunate to collaborate with customer-owners, Tribal leadership, SCF departments, and clinical services at the SCF’s primary care centers.

On March 24, Ryan Gump, a former RAISE program participant, was recognized for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop #26 of the Boy Scouts.

Summer break is here and Alaska’s children need your help. On average, nearly 51,000 Alaskan children received free or reduced-price school meals through the USDA National School Lunch Program in school year 2016–2017, while only about 4,700 (9%) participated in the Summer Food Service Program.

Southcentral Foundation’s Learning Institute recently conducted an evaluation to judge the effectiveness of its teaching and training activities.

While conducting research for Simply Brilliant, a book about how great organizations do ordinary things in extraordinary ways, business writer and entrepreneur William C. Taylor partnered with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He asked them, “If I can visit only one health care organization in the United States, where should I go?”

The Southcentral Foundation Dental Assistant Training Program is changing!

Since its inaugural conference in 2011, Southcentral Foundation has welcomed Nuka Conference attendees from all over the world. Conference-goers have visited from 30 U.S. states, six Canadian provinces, and traveled across oceans from places as far as Australia, Great Britain, New Zealand, Scotland, and Singapore to learn about a system of health care shaped by Alaska Native people.
