At Southcentral Foundation we take great joy in celebrating the successes of community partners who help fulfill our vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness.

SCF congratulates Diane Kaplan, Rasmuson Foundation’s President and CEO, on being the recent recipient of multiple awards: the Inaugural Partnership Award – presented by Southcentral Foundation, the 2019 Leadership Award – presented by the Anchorage ATHENA Society, the President’s Everyday Hero Award Tribal Ally – presented by the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, and the announced Terrance Keenan Leadership Award in health and philanthropy – presented by Grantmakers in Health that will be awarded in June. Being the recipient of the Terrance Keenan Leadership Award speaks volumes about Diane’s commitment. The award honors outstanding individuals in the field of health philanthropy whose work is distinguished by leadership, innovation, and achievement. Award recipients’ are invested and taking action in their communities while demonstrating a commitment to those with the greatest need.

At the beginning of SCF’s journey toward wellness, it was recognized that the journey should not be walked alone. Diane Kaplan and Rasmuson Foundation were key partners in helping to achieve SCF’s goal of creating a care model that reflected the values, culture, and health priorities of 65,000 customer-owners.

The many accolades received by Diane this spring are no surprise; over the many years of service to Alaska’s communities she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to addressing the most challenging concerns facing the community. She is known across the state for her unwavering dedication toward improving health disparities. Diane leads from her heart and truly enjoys working in collaboration to improve the lives of Alaskans.

“Being able to have the honor of working with a family and institution whose sole purpose is to make life better for everybody else is — it’s just a real privilege,” said Diane.

Rasmuson Foundation has contributed to countless Southcentral Foundation projects that support innovative health care and related services. Thank you, Diane Kaplan, for leading by example and continuing to support the health and wellness of Alaska and all the people who call this great state home.
