Dona King, a behavioral health technician at Southcentral Foundation’s Dena A Coy Residential Treatment Program, recently received an Outstanding Direct Service Professional Award from Alaska Alliance for Direct Service Careers. She was presented this award at the 16th Annual Full Lives Conference in Anchorage in late March. The conference featured national and state experts who presented on key issues that affect direct-support professionals and the people they serve.
At Dena A Coy, Dona serves parenting and non-parenting women who are experiencing problems related to alcohol and drug use, and experiencing emotional and psychological issues.
Dona is a seasoned chemical dependency counselor who has worked at Dena A Coy for 15 years. She is a role model to her peers and consistently demonstrates her ability to use a comprehensive and holistic approach to wellness with the diverse population she serves.
