Southcentral Foundation Ranks in Alaska Business Magazine 2020 Corporate 100
Southcentral Foundation was recognized among the 2020 Corporate 100 in the April edition of Alaska Business magazine. The annual ranking honors companies that provide the most jobs to Alaskans. SCF, with 2,500 employees, ranked seventh.
SCF provides health care to 65,000 customer-owners in a geographical service area which includes Anchorage and Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Upper Kuskokwim villages, Iliamna Lake villages, and the community of St. Paul Island.
The magazine also featured SCF President/CEO Katherine Gottlieb in the Off the Cuff segment. The monthly feature spotlights business leaders across Alaska allowing readers to get to know them better. Gottlieb joined SCF in 1987 and has served at the helm of the organization as President/CEO since 1991.
On her 30-year career with SCF Gottlieb said, “I love working with Alaska Native people. My heart is for seeing the self-esteem of Alaska Native people be raised up. I see people change their attitudes, I see peoples’ heads be lifted up, proud to be who they are. That’s a major reason why I stay — I care what happens to our children’s children. I want to see and know that in a hundred years when I’m not around, that they’re going to be healthy, strong, wise, and running the world.”
“We continue with our celebration of Alaska’s top
100 companies ranked by employee numbers. Each has worked diligently to create an environment that appeals to job seekers and inspires workers to stay with them even in a highly transient state like Alaska.”
