The 2017 class of Southcentral Foundation’s Certified Medical Assistant Student Intern Program, Gabe Larson and Monica Mazza, wrapped up their course studies at Alaska Career College on Oct. 12, and hit the ground running. On Oct.16, they completed their National Center for Competency Testing exam to become certified medical assistants, and the next day, they began their month-long externships on the Alaska Native Health Campus. Upon successful completion of their NCCT exam and externship portions of the program, Larson and Mazza will be hired as CMAs and begin work within an SCF clinic.

The CMA Student Intern Program was created in alignment with SCF’s corporate initiative of increasing Alaska Native and American Indian individuals in clinical positions. Apply online at southcentralfoundation.com to be considered for the next CMA internship.
