RAISE Interns Tour Fort Lewis College, Travel to Washington D.C.

Between March 10–17, six winter interns went on an educational tour of Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Fort Lewis College fosters the academic success and personal development of Native American students and is a liberal arts college.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which recognizes those who live with mental health conditions—to show support and educate the general public about such conditions.

Dona King, a behavioral health technician at Southcentral Foundation’s Dena A Coy Residential Treatment Program, recently received an Outstanding Direct Service Professional Award from Alaska Alliance for Direct Service Careers.

Dr. Matt Hirschfeld Receives Ray Helfer Award

In early December, Alaska Children’s Trust awarded Dr. Matt Hirschfeld with the prestigious Ray Helfer Award. Established by the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds and the American Academy of Pediatrics, this award is given to a pediatrician who demonstrates a significant contribution to the well-being and health of children.
