Customer-owner receives dental care at the new Children’s Dental Clinic.
It is that time of year when the kids are back in school and the holidays are just around the corner. Soon, there will be holiday candy and goodies being offered left and right. Remember — it is important to promote a healthy lifestyle, which includes daily oral care and proper nutrition. Now is a great time to schedule the whole family for dental exams.
Parents can be positive role models by caring for their own teeth and showing children that brushing and flossing are an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Encourage children to brush before bedtime to reduce the risk of cavities. Aunts, uncles, and grandparents can help by offering children healthy snacks.
SCF Dental is committed to providing quality dental care and education to children (and adults) but also encourage everyone to promote oral health 365 days a year! Start scheduling dental exams for children annually beginning at 12 months of age. When children learn the importance of good oral health at an early age, we can be successful in reducing decay in Alaska Native and American Indian people.
The new Children’s Dental Clinic is located in the Dr. Katherine and Dr. Kevin Gottlieb Building, which was a part of the 2018 services expansion.
