Family Medicine Physicians
Family Medicine at Southcentral Foundation
At Southcentral Foundation, physicians enjoy a unique work setting that is based on one of our corporate goals: shared responsibility.
Family medicine physicians work within an integrated care team, which is an immediate support team staffed with a full-time RN case manager, a certified medical assistant, and case management support. Additionally, each ICT has access to other in-clinic specialties that include a dietitian, certified nurse midwife, integrated pediatric support team, pharmacist, lactation consultant, community resource specialist, behavioral health consultant, psychiatrist, and physical medicine and rehabilitation pain consultant.
Unlike many family medicine positions, physicians are not compensated based on volume of customer-owners seen. Because SCF is focused on creating an environment of wellness for customer-owners, we are focused on quality of care; not quantity of care. This means SCF physicians are encouraged to spend more time with customer-owners to address any possible underlying causes of symptoms.
Family medicine physicians have the opportunity to bring high-quality, relationship-based care to 55 rural villages across Alaska. Working alongside local Community Health Clinics staffed by community health aides/practitioners and advanced practice providers, you will build meaningful, long-term relationships with customer-owners. You will support customer-owners through biannual village visits and clinic appointments when they visit Anchorage.
Find the practice setting that fits your career and lifestyle. At SCF, physicians can practice at Yagheli Shesh Qenq’a Anchorage Native Primary Care Center in Anchorage or Benteh Nuutah Primary Care Center in Wasilla. Both clinics are grounded in SCF’s nationally recognized relationship-based model of care, where physicians work alongside integrated care teams to build lasting relationships with customer-owners.
