On Jan. 1, the Alaska Cleft Lip and Palate Program became a designated cleft palate team by the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association; the ANMC program is the only one in the state to receive this designation.
A journey is seldom walked alone, and some of the most challenging accomplishments are achieved in collaboration. Southcentral Foundation will honor these accomplishments at the 22nd Annual Gathering with the new SCF Partnership Award.
This February SCF will help spread awareness on the high price of heart disease while celebrating American Heart Month. Heart disease is currently the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. For people of American Indian, Alaska Native, Asian, and Pacific Islander descent, heart disease is second only to cancer.
