Q: When will I be empaneled to an integrated dental care team?
A: Southcentral Foundation Dental began empaneling customer-owners in December 2021. If you are unsure which integrated dental care team you are assigned to, you may call (907) 729-2000 to check on the status.
Q: Can I choose which integrated dental care team I am empaneled to?
A: Yes, you have the option to select your integrated dental care team.
Q: I cannot get ahold of my case management support, what do I do?
A: Customers-owners can leave a message for their case management support. Alternatively, Anchorage customer-owners may call (907) 729-2000 to request an appointment. Matanuska Susitna-Borough customer-owners may call (907) 631-7690 to request an appointment.
Q: What does empanelment mean?
A: Empanelment is the process of linking a customer-owner to a specific team of providers, including a dentist, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and case management support. Team-based dental care allows for a more personal connection, continuity of care, and the ability to contact your integrated dental care team directly.
Q: Can I switch to a different integrated dental care team?
A: You may contact your current case manager to discuss options.
Q: Why is SCF Dental moving in this direction?
A: SCF Dental envisions a better dental experience for customer-owners through the life-long relationships, improved communication, strengthened trust, consistency in treatment, and continuity of care gained by empanelment to an integrated dental care team.
Q: I already have a preferred dental provider; can I stay on their team?
A: Yes, you may request to remain with your preferred dental provider’s integrated dental care team.
Q: What services can my integrated dental care team provide?
A: Integrated dental care teams will provide comprehensive dental care. If necessary, you will be referred to a SCF dental specialist.
Q: How will moving to empanelment affect appointment availability?
A: Team-based dental care optimizes appointment availability.
Q: Can I be seen same day or walk-in for dental services?
A: Yes, same day dental needs are available by calling (907) 729-2000. Walk-in dental services are accommodated only at the Children’s Dental Clinic, Fireweed Dental Clinic, or Benteh Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center Dental Clinic.
