American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month 2019

November is American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month! To celebrate, SCF will be hosting a variety of events including a cultural gathering and promoting World Rock Your Mocs week.

Post your own photos, stories, recipes, and more on your social media page throughout the month! Make sure to use the hashtag #scfregalia2019 and #RockYourMocs2019. This is good for all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

World Rock Your Mocs week is Nov. 9 – 16 and we want to see your moccasins, mukluks, and traditional boots. Share with us through social media by using the hashtag #SCFRegalia2019 and #RockYourMocs2019. Or comment on our World Rock Your Mocs week posts and share your photos in the comments.

We love to promote traditional nutrition. Send us your favorite traditional recipe by using the contact form on the right side of the webpage and you may be featured in a future social media post or in our Anchorage Native News paper.

Join the Benteh Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center team for a Cultural Gathering Thursday, Nov. 13 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This family-friendly affair will be a potluck event, including:

  • Traditional dishes
  • Dancing and drumming group
  • Alaska Native vendor tables
  • and more!
