Second Annual Labor Support Workshop
Southcentral Foundation, in collaboration with the Alaska Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the Midwives Association of Alaska, invite birthworkers to attend a free two-day labor support workshop Nov. 8-9 at the Alaska Native Medical Center. This workshop is multidisciplinary and is intended for anyone who supports pregnant and/or postpartum people.
Saturday Workshop: Practice evidence-based care interventions with hands-on training. Engage with fellow birth workers on relevant topics including perinatal bereavement, secondary trauma in health care, community to hospital birth transfer, respectful care for Alaska Native families, maternal mental health, and much more!
Saturday or Sunday Bundle Birth Training: Participants may choose from one of three asynchronous in-person screenings of a recorded Bundle Birth course on physiologic birth, providing strategies for navigating various labor patterns and interruptions with non-pharmacological nursing interventions.
Lunch will be provided and CEUs will be available for both days.

Please note: A screening of the film “American Delivery” will occur on Friday evening, November 7th. More details on this to come. The event will also be free and occur on the Alaska Native Health Campus.
